Where do you get this definition from the actual text? And what translation adopts such a rendering?????? Is every one who "protects" someone now a "Preacher"??????? Silly. Have you ever heard of "Intellectual Dishonesy"?
Was Jesus, Peter, etc. "Preachers"? Of course they were...still waiting on the woman preacher verse:________________? Mt. 28:19? Of course we're all to tell the truth to a sin-sick world. Do you understand the difference between a witnessing setting & a church setting? Did you not read Paul's reason for writing to Timothy that I posted above? Deal w/ it then, instead ignoring it [as if I'm gonna' continually play defense all the time...not hardly].
Anna: Where does the Scriptures say that she expounded from Scripture in church-setting [which did not even exist then]? You are supplying that interpretation...not the literal text! In sum, you bring your pre-suppositions to the text, & read your assumptions into it. Problem is, it's NEVER stated by the text itself!
I agree that Bro. Alvear is a very good man, & I loooooove his spirit & faith! But I would not classify this issue as trivial, since Paul did not [strange that most don't do that w/ the hair issue, hmmmm]. "If any man thinks himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unot you ARE THE COMMANDMENTS OF THE LORD." Still waiting on someone to deal w/ I Tim. 2, etc. instead of just ignoring it...probably can't respond much after today for a while..............

There is no response needed because you have the whole thing wrong. All this referance to preachers and pastors in line with a women not being able to fulfill this office. This is not a office, the leadership of the church is made up of many differant things not just a pastor. for that matter where do you get the office of a preacher, I cant help it that our whole church structure is not biblical but there you have it. This whole argument is over something that has no relivance in the kingdom of God. Pauls teaching about women in the church had to do with the customs of that day not with a law of God.
2Ti 2:14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2Ti 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
Lets get on to the things that will further the kingdom of God not bring division to the work of God.
Mar 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
Mar 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Mar 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
Mar 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
