Even a guilty person gets a fair trial. Are you suggesting that a guilty person should not have a lawyer?
Even if I had robbed a bank and knew I was guilty, I'd still want a lawyer to make sure I wasn't just railroaded.
Being a defense lawyer doesn't mean you have to lie, or try to get a guilty person off scot-free. You just have to try to get them a fair trial.
