The gates of government nor the gates of hades/death have not prevailed. There were times the Church went underground, there were times the Church picked up customs and doctrines of the world, there were times the Church compromised, but today in 2009 the Church is still triumphant. We've lost battles here and there but we know that we will win the war. For a dispensationalist like me, I see the return of Jesus in triumph in
Revelation 19 and
Zechariah 14 and believe that some day He and His people will rule this earth in righteousness. Others who see things differently see the Kingdom growing for 2000+ years until it fills the earth. But, however we see it, we know that in the end we win!!!!
