ok, I'll bite! It's 2am and I am wide awake and bored... Now for the question..
I would definitely say I am harder on myself than others.... Not that I put myself down and think that I can't ever get things right... Nope.
Let's see if I can wade thru a fuzzy brain and put this in words....few words!
I don't like being "harder" on other people. I may think that someone may need to step it up a notch in certain areas, but I too quickly reminded of my own short comings.
I would say that the only place where I am harder on others, would be with my children. I want so much to instill in them integrity, character and Christ like attributes that I am hard on them. (in that motherly way) For example: One of my children was extremely upset with a neighbor's child. He was so mad at this child and was soo close to losing his temper. He came in to talk about it and while we were talking, alot of hurts begin to come out. Not just this pesty kid next door but from kids of the past who caused a lot of pain. this was a great opportunity to speak to him about forgiveness...
SHortly after that, he had another encounter with this other kid and he came in fuming and went straight to the restroom. The next day he told me that he was sooo mad at this kid and he had to come in. He went into the restroom and begin to pray for this child. (instead of pounding him into the ground!
) My son is only 10. But at the point, we was "teaching me" because I had just let myself become "furious over past situations... It's funny because I excuse my own actions is this area but yet I see how wrong it is, and I am harder on my children about these things.
Teaching them to not let people get to you and let the past stay in the past....I need to practice that! LOL
