Re: UPC Lynda Doty's Controversial Book
I am new to the forum so I don't know how much you all will listen to what I say, but here goes nothing...
I think that it is time that we get some educated Apostolics out there who are willing to address difficult issues. We have been regarded too long as a movement of backwoods preachers who don't think that we need an education as long as we have the power of God. Don't get me wrong, the power and annointing of God makes all of the difference, but an education can open doors that would otherwise be closed.
This is why I am for the educated among our ranks writing books like this, it opens doors for us where they would otherwise be closed. It in many ways validates us as a movement of relevance within the modern age. I think that we need more authors and speakers of high education levels willing to address difficult issues, not just with our movement, but anywhere that we are able to. I think this could help change the perception of the Apostolic movement among the denominal ranks as well as within the world that we have been called to minister.
I hope that kind of make sense.
Anyhow, that is my $.02
