In our first church building ,the neighborhood we were in also housed a home for the mentally ill.
We have tons of mostly funny stories about things that happened over the years. The one that sticks out in my mind right now is one night towards the end of church, one of the resisdents of the home (a very tall, intimidating woman) came in the back door and stood in the entry way and said at the top of her lungs "By the order of Nelson Mandela, we are all being evacuated. You need to be at the docks by midnight".
Then she turned around and left. It was really quiet for a moment, and then church resumed like nothing had happened! HILARIOUS! (BTW, there isn't a sea dock within 120 miles of where we live)
