ok, so my picky husband wouldnt even TRY it....(the chicken dish)
and he hated the other one b/c it had corn in it....but he did try it
the rule in our house is "if you dont like it, tough - go to McDonalds"
I try to make one new thing every week - to expand their tastes. Before I came into their world, it was pork chops, mashed potatoes (instant), corn (straight out of the can) mac and cheese out of a box (Oh the iniquity) and the occasional carrot. They'd never heard of some things - and never eaten any thing green. My first new thing with them was - get this - SALAD.
now they love salad. - and they'll eat green beans - one kid will eat peas...
they love dirty rice and sausage, mushrooms, all kinds of things...I got one kid to eat pepper from the garden. My husband will eat stuffed bell pepper....Its a slow process, but I'm trying.
but my husband hated dinner last night - oh well, the kids inhaled it.
and oh, they didnt even know who Ralph Lauren was and had never stayed in a hotel. Can you say deprived??
Now the kids can spot fake LV bags and Dooney and Bourke purses (or ducks as they call them).....and my 14 yr old thinks he HAS to have RL polos. (but he doesnt get them)........I'm so proud
