Of course God did it. And He did it on the day of Pentecost with 3000 people whereas 3000 died the same day in the Exodus under law.

No it is not a mere story. It is an experience. It is reality.

. But it is a story about what you must do, that does you no good just to know, as a story. That is a serpent on a pole, Christ lifted up as a snake.

It is not just a story. You wish it were only a story to me so your accusations of me can remain intact, and that is your pride. But without experiencing this, it means nothing. The serpent on the pole was signifying what was killing the Israelites. You always miss the actual point in these pictures of the cross.
Jesus became the very sin that was killing us. And As that which was killing Israel was lifted up on a pole to indicate it was taken for them and raised up to be judged, and they believed, they were healed of the poison. Jesus became the sin that was killing us. And when we believe that He took for us what was killing us and made himself to be sin for us, and look to Him in that faith as our only means of salvation, we are saved from the sin that was killing us. His death stood as our deaths.
You are so far away form the real picture. You miss what someone who sees the cross is saying, you misinterpret them to be reading mere stories, and don't realize the FAITH is alive and on fire in our hearts -- and it's the faith that saves and points to the cross and still-flowing blood that alone can wash away sins.
