Brother Pita, I'm surprised you would post this, I have been reading your postings concerning textual criticism and other than your thoughts on Erasmus, I like what I read. Children tying shoes? Brother, we are talking about the heads of families teaching the heads of families, adult men leading adult men. Yet, the ministry that women do have as elders seems way too beneath the women of the 21st century?
Titus 2:3-5
The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
That they may TEACH the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
I believe early church saw what is written in
Titus 2:3-5 as a high calling, because they looked at the job performed well as not blaspheming the Word of God.
