1999-2011: More or less just went slowly, carefully, praying and thinking things through before I did anything permanently irretractable. Prayed all the time, "Jesus I believe, help thou my unbelief." I also experimented going to other (less literalistic believing) churches, and decided that maybe I could still be a christian in a different kind of (less literalistic-leaning) church. But eventually decided that the bible should not be spun to fit one's personal preferences, but that it meant (more or less!) what it said--that is, if carefully and honestly interpreted, for which skill I also went to a bible college for two years in early 90s. In the end, the so-called word of god appeared thoroughly discredited in many areas, (unless I were to lobotomize myself) so therefore I could not longer believe. Realized I was almost fully atheist around 2011. (I still hope there's a god, but it won't be the Yahweh thing.) My biggest regret now is having been such a gullible, credulous, and vulnerable 18 year old, when I was baptized in Jesus name, and that I didn't begin to really think for myself (IOW, too faith-filled) for the next 21 years (until approx. 1999.)

Thanks for asking. I'm sure this is fodder for some to offer their presumptuous, faith-preserving, fake "insights" about me or others who claim that "The Faith" is simply not true.

Deeply JN Apostolic: 1978-1999.
Happily agnostic/atheist 2011 to present.

Good news! The gospel boils down to, "Love me
or I will destroy you." --A god.
