I guess you meant this as a light-hearted jab, and (if so) I'll take it as such. But it does point to a serious issue: the claim that we agnostics and atheists are, in fact, looking for excuses. As if it's a given that we humans are required, by some kind of divine law, to be believers. Anyone who disobeys that decree must find an excuse. Or must (vainly) try to find one.
Nope.
That's not how it works. Nobody is commanded to believe how you believe. Well,
people have commanded certain beliefs, but not God. Or if he has, he should have (and would have, IMO, since he's God) been more clear, and issued such commands in a more reliable and verifiable way than entrusting a few select humans to write them down for the rest of humanity (of which there would be the inevitable imposters who also write down divine commands, bogus though they be) to read and (once they have chosen which ones are really from God) obey.
I, for one, don't think God is stupid.
