This is a trustworthy saying.
(Notice here in
Titus 3 how Paul says that those who received the out-poured Holy Ghost are considered "
justified by his grace". God doesn't let ignorant preachers saying the wrong words at baptism get in the way of saving a soul.)
EPHESIANS 1:7,13-14.....

he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.

The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.
EPHESIANS 1:14 in the KJV.....
Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession,
unto the praise of his glory.
