Re: Prominent Memphis Area Pastor Resigns
I have known Bro. Mooney for many years. Having said that, I doubt that he felt "stabbed big time" after hearing Bro. Black had resigned. Instead, I would tend to believe that he reached out to a fellow minister of the gospel, who was in need of prayer and a friend. I have heard of many others who have, and I respect them for doing what the church was called to do. It's easy to go on with life and pretend nothing happened....like the person didnt exist, that in one fail swoop every good thing in their ministry was wiped out because they fell. However- that's not the church we are suppose to be.
I've still not heard that the church board or whomever has acknowledged everything that has been stated on here that happened did in fact happen. However, I know that while failures are nothing to overlook or sweep under the rug, thAt there are also a lot of untruths out there... A lot. For some reason, we as humans find the truth far less believable that the lies. I'm not saying that something didnt in fact happen. I'm just saying, having been close to a similar situation...about 90 % of what you hear as facts, are simply not that at all. I'm just really careful to believe something 100% until I hear it from the person.
Has the church made a formal statement regarding the situation?
