no, you are being foolish. Foolish to force your own interpretation on this passage and insist everyone else is foolish for not agreeing with you.
The mere fact that you agree it is foolish tells me I am right! It IS foolish. That is exactly why YOU are wrong. When it seems foolish it can't be true. Paul was NOT forbidding Jewelry. Nor was Jesus really intending for you to hate your parents. You are missing Paul and Peter's point here. He was not saying Jewelry is wrong for women, ok for men. Peter was NOT saying women should not wear clothes. Yes that is foolish and that is exactly why I say you are not understanding what Paul and Peter were saying.
See you are looking at it too and saying "hmm that does not make sense...Paul and Peter must have meant" and then you interpret it to mean "can't wear any form of jewelry no matter how cheap it is..no ornaments and no expensive clothing"
Except that there is no way to determine what amount of money makes something expensive. If the issue is costly then it should be ok to wear cheap ornaments. If God and Pearls are the issue then ornaments is NOT the issue but expense. If ornaments are the issue then stop wearing a tie! Stop wearing a watch. Ask someone for the time or use the cell phone. Don't wear belts, buy pants that fit and lose weight. Don't buy expensive pens. Buy your shoes and clothes all at the thrift store.
See the whole thing is so subjective elder and FOOLISH. You are the one being foolish.
