When it is a case of diagnosing some stubborn ailment, or when it is desired to learn if a past event has cast a malicious influence over a certain person or family, the "Shaking Hand" ceremony is generally employed.
"During prayer and thereafter the diagnostician sits with eyes closed and face averted, and as soon as the singing begins his extended hand usually begins to shake. While the hand is moving the diagnostician thinks of various diseases. When something happens which tells him that he is thinking of the correct one, he then thinks of various chants that might cure the disease; then of what medicine man might be the best one to give the chant, then perhaps of plant medicines or other therapeutic measure which might be used. After all the information has been divined the shaking hand stops and the diagnostician opens his eyes and tells those assembled what he has discovered."

In this brief account we find several factors common in evangelical healing lines or personal visitations.
1. Discovery of the reason for the illness or malady...discernment
2. Visible manifestation during interview, either touching or other means.
3. Word of knowledge to effect the healing.
4. Once discovered the shaking hand stops.
In the case of Oral Roberts and William Branham, both of some American Indian descent, each had the, "swelling hand" manifestation. One evangelist had the swelling in right hand and the other evangelist had it in the left hand. It is said the type of disease could be detected in this manner.
As we have read (assuming one believes the account) the American Indians had a similar procedure to detect and then to heal diseases.
What are we to make of this?

I don't see Jesus Christ doing this and no disciple of Him. Furthermore Jesus said the believers to lay hands on the sick. And James said the elders to anoint with oil and the believers prayer will heal the sick. So just believing , nothing more.
So what do we see with Branham? First waiting for a 'presence' and than waiting for a vibration.
I call this adding to the scripture.
