The short answer: Yes.
The long answer: There appears to be more than one cause of depression, with the biological cause being a common one. There are medicines which can help with this. That is not to say medicine is or should be the only treatment.

1Thes 5:23), when we are negatively impacted in one area (the body), it can affect our entire being, including being negatively impacted on a spiritual level. Conversely, being strengthened in the "spiritual man" and in our faith can have a
positive impact on our entire being, including our body.
Also, I have come across more and more studies which seem to suggest that the brain chemicals which are released from engaging in a regular exercise routine contribute to a feeling of well being, and is sometimes even being prescribed as part of an overall treatment program for depression.
