As for Adam, we are told that God said he would die the day he ate, and we are told when Adam died, hundreds of years later. No qualification of which type of death occurred when. No mention of more than one type of death.

He died the day he sinned and died again 900 years later. Eph. 2 says we were dead in trespasses and sins. Sounds like spiritual death to me.
