I am in reasonably close fellowship with several non OP churches. I can assure you that this issue is not limited to Pentecostals, UPC, standards, or Oneness view of scripture.
The exit is a very busy place in most church denominations nowadays. And as you point, out very often those departing are distancing themselves from their faith entirely.

Maybe that indicates that the object of faith was misplaced? Do we put our faith in the church we are in or the person the church is preaching about?
I realize walking away from apostolic beliefs also find it hard to accept other beliefs as they seemingly contradict what a person has been taught, but I was about to leave the UPC in 2005 and had come in contact with those who had left and found other churches with different beliefs. But God led me to stay and my belief system actually changed from what it was before. I can now both rejoice with acts 2:38 and count the sinner forgiven at repentance.
TO me that is true joy when you can acknowledge the work of God in someone's life and also teach them God has more, rather than teaching them without what you have, they have nothing.
