Hair, sleeves, pantsuits, jewelry, and makeup

Figured this place could use some CPR, it's pretty much flatlining around here lately...

I believe that the woman’s (additional) covering is a veil, per the Apostle Paul. However, I wouldn’t want my hypothetical wife and/or daughter(s) to wear one. They look tacky.

Hair=long hair for the sisters, short hair on the brothers.

Sleeves= no tank tops, decent modest sleeves.

Pantsuits: While there is no direct defining scripture for it: Pants on men and skirts for ladies.

Jewelry: Almost all churches have some adornment, it's just a matter of what and how much. I personally wear none. There really isn't a complete prohibition against it.

Makeup: Even if no bible against it, why would a sister want to wear lipstick and black eyeliner and the such? The motive tells all. Some wear foundation if they have skin problems. My wife eyebrows are gone so she makes some that are not outlandish, but she isn't doing it to be sensual.

Yep. Since Aquila has been gone it has been pretty dull.
I guess I need to create another user name as a liberal...
Since I am evidently one of the few that has never had another user name.

If there is no scripture for the sleeves, pants and makeup, WHY is it being preached in our pulpits? I have never understood that. Just asking.

Hair=uncut, un-permed and un-dyed hair on ladies and short hair kept off the ears and collars for men.

Sleeves= below the elbow

Pantsuits: pants on men and at least mid calf length skirts or dresses on ladies. Pantyhose on the ladies are preferred. Also, no splits in the skirts.

Jewelry: no gold, silver or pearls. No finger rings, toe rings, ear rings or nose rings. Watches should be simple and not have the appearance of gold, silver, diamonds or pearls.

Makeup: No makeup of any kind.

Of course, you can do ALL the above and if don't have Jesus on the inside, you are still lost. Some of the biggest devils we are fighting in the church today are dressed in "holiness". Pray through, pray through, pray through. Clean the inside and make the outside presentable to a Holy God.

Very true... you can dress the outside right and not be Holy but you can not be Holy on the inside and not be dressing right on the outside.
