Is it true that....
A preacher told me years ago that David Wilkerson was interested in the apostolic doctrine and movement. So, he attended a general conference in the seventies or early eighties -- more likely seventies -- and a man who had been wanting to speak at the conference after having assisted, and been there to help organize the meetings, finally was given the word he could preach. That was the meeting Wilkerson arrived to hear. As Wilkerson sat there listening, the speaker referred to time spent time on the farm. He had a crude tongue, meant nothing by it, and used the "s" word in the midst of his sermon, talking about wading through the farm fields and manure, etc..
Those in attendance claimed Wilkerson walked out shaking his head. Any one hear of that? |
Re: Is it true that....
I never heard that story. I did hear his brother Don was interested in the Apostolic way. Of course that was just from a cousin of mine passing it on. I dont know of any proof.

I would be very surprised if this were true. No way any speaker at a GC has used that kind of expletive.
I'll ask my parents if they remember. They attended every GC from the 60s through the mid 2000s when they retired. |

Re: Is it true that....
Anyway, no one ever cursed over a pulpit in any General Conference.
Want to know why I know that is a fact? Because the haters would of embellished it to the point of no return. They would of paraded it in front of Apostolic faces, rubbed our Apostolic noses in it, and pretty much danced up and down our backs with the story. So, no, no one ever cursed over a pulpit at a General Conference. |
