Needs prayer
Ok, I was brought up that it was wrong to wear pants, cut your hair, wear make-up, and everyone knows what else I was told was wrong....Well when I got "grown" and stop serving God I started wearing pants cutting my hair and all the rest. Well since I redecated my life to the Lord and got filled with the Holy Ghost I went back to wearing skirts and not cutting my hair and I am having to find me a new job because I can not be a police officer and wear pants and all...

Nicole,
May God direct your path, Look to Him for your answers. Go to Him for your needs. He knows your needs but He also said ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened unto you! Praying for you! Hugs, Falla39 |
Re: Needs prayer
Finally a direct confront with the correct biblical meaning of De 22:5!
First here is a link that will take you to a good translation and interpretation of De 22:5:Deuteronomy 22:5. Added note: The De 22:5 link goes to a web site that was hacked, and in the process of getting the site back up and operating much of the forum and post format was lost. Therefore you will find some strange symbols and 'quotes' that are not 'quotes', and some links that no longer work. Sorry but there are just too many such posts to go back and correct everyone. The initial embedded links on the De 22:5 thread should work, however. And, here is a very good study on the historical and religious/cultural aspects of this scripture: http://jerryhayesmin.org/www.jerryha...rpretation.pdf[/QUOTE] As has been pointed out by others, it is not an issue over the wearing of paints, but the implements of 'war'. It is a question of women taking up arms as a man, and perhaps being called upon to take the life of another human. While it has happened, it has not been a general 'calling of God' on the life of a woman. The other issues is a cultural one from the days of Moses and the lands in which they lived and traveled (prior to taking possession of the Promised Land). Now, there are a great many careers in law enforcement and the judicial systems that do not require the use of arms, and where you will be free to wear pants or dresses/skirts, as your conscience will allow. Of course, if you wish to also taking up target shooting, why not? Now, if you decide that De 22:5 and all of the included ordinances of that chapter do not apply to you today - then go for what ever seems acceptable in your eyes and in the sight of God - leave the traditions of men - to men. |
