Half of protestant pastors agree with Franklin Graham’s view that Islam is an “evil” religion, according to a new LifeWay Research survey. Most pastors have a negative view of the religion overall.

The study proposed a variety of questions about the differences between Christianity and Islam and then offered negative and positive descriptors. According to Ed Stetzer, president of LifeWay Research, pastors “consistently chose the negative descriptions.”

In the headlining question, pastors were asked to describe which is more accurate: Graham’s widely reported comment that Islam is “a very evil and a very wicked religion,” or former President George W. Bush’s remark that “the Muslim faith is based upon peace and love and compassion.” Some 47 percent agreed with Graham’s statement, and 12 percent agreed with both.

In other statements on the survey, 68 percent of pastors strongly disagreed that “Christians and Muslims pray to the same God.” Some 82 percent said that Islam is “fundamentally different from Christianity,” and 42 percent believe that the religion “promotes violence.”

“We should not say that Protestant pastors are uniform in their view and in no way does this study show they think that Muslims are bad people, but it does show concerns about the religion and its impact,” said Scott McConnell, associate director of LifeWay Research. [lifeway.com, 4/23/10]

All false religions are bad and from the pit of hell-- no matter how moral or immoral their adherrents might be.

Islam is a demonic deception. Interestingly enough, in many ways the Islamic Mahdi (Messaiah) reflects what popular Christianity would view as the Antichrist. If the final antichrist bills himself as the Mahdi, he has over a billion followers ready to accept him overnight.

Not wanting to start a firestorm here but....

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said several times that he wants to see Israel wiped off the map and that he is expecting the Mahdi (Islamic Messiah) to return. Does anyone here think that Ahmadinejad may believe that Barack Obama is the Mahdi?

Something else about BHO,
Kenyan Muslims consider him to be one of them
Moammar Kadafi has called him his "son" and told the UN that BHO should be made president for life.

So then, the pre-invasion Taliban government of Afghanistan was "ordained" of God and our God ordained leaders took them out... was that a "godly" act, or a politically expedient and just act given the criminal nature of the Taliban?

It all gets really complicated if we can't use our own judgment and Bible-based discernment to evaluate our leaders.

Yea it does Pel.....lol but I try to take the bible literally as some others on here do..I mean we have people taking the bible literally trying to duplicate Pentecost so I am just trying to follow the word....but to answer yes it gets really complicated but you have some that will say it's not complicated...just a lack of "UNDERSTANDING"....LOL
