Carroll Moves to Seattle!!!

Not ABSOLUTELY sure it's 'official' yet, but one article says it is, and another says it isn't. :dunno

But I'm goin' with it and celebrating!

Pete Carroll has been USC's Head Coach for the last decade and has led them to 7 consecutive Pac-10 Titles and he's produced some outstanding NFL players in that time.

While I'm not a huge Seahawks fan, I might just have to become one! The Seahawks have struggled for years now. It will be nice to see if someone can turn them around!

The only down-side of this is USC is trying to lure Oregon State University Beavers Head Coach, Mike Riley, away! That better not happen! :girlfriend

I love Riley and what he teaches the players. It's not all about football for him, he tries to instill good moral character into his players as well. :thumbsup

It's always disappointing when money talks and walks. Sports can be so aggravating!!!!

So USC has a bad year and Carroll walks?

Carrol is a great coach? Well, he did have some success at USC. Can't say the same about his players. USC is about to be dealt penalties for all those infractions that Reggie Bush caused and the newest stuff with McKnight. It's interesting how these coaches do well in one place, then have problems, then move on to the next. Like ESPN is saying, Pete Carrol was just a marginal 500 coach in the NFL. Give it a couple of years and he will either be back in the college game or retired as an analyst for ESPN.

My :2cents

USC is about to get hit with NCAA penalties for infractions and will likely suffer in recruiting because of it. USC had a mediocre year and with possible sanctions on the horizon, the future doesn't look too bright for the program.

It's been written that the Seahawks owner is one of the richest owners and will offer a lot more than Carroll would make with USC.

I think Carroll would have gone anyway. But leaving after a mediocre season and with the future in doubt ... it looks bad on Carroll. Too bad, I doubt he'll have the same success as he had with USC. He's more a College HC than NFL HC.

It's all about the money though... Sabin. Carroll. They all have their price.
