Re: Diet Foods.
Cut way back on sugar and white flour products.
Eat smaller portions. Pay attention to your 'that's enough' signal. |
Re: Diet Foods.
Cut back on breads & sweets.
Eat more vegetables. Eliminate most fried foods. Eat chicken, or turkey instead of red meats. Follow a low-glycemic index diet. This will help keep you from feeling hungry all the time by helping maintain a healthy blood glucose level. (You can get a list of foods that fall into this plan by doing a search on google for low-glycemic diet) Develop healthy eating habits, and an exercise plan-- and stick with it. Diets don't work. You have to change your way of life. |
Re: Diet Foods.
Pay attention to your Protien-Carb-Fat numbers in the meals you eat. Every meal should contain these 3 things, in a good ratio. When I noticed the concept of the way my nutritionist was planning my meals, I found this website and it helped explain so I could do it on my own.
http://exercise.about.com/cs/nutrition/a/protein_2.htm I also learned the same things at a wellness camp I attended last year. Its really all about eating the right proportions of pro-car-fat in each meal, and eating smaller and often. Feeding your body makes you burn more calories. You also HAVE to exercise. You have to burn more calories than you eat, but you cant starve yourself. Starvation = weight gain. |

Negative calorie foods ESPECIALLY before bed. IE: http://www.fatfreekitchen.com/negati...rie-foods.html Most burn somewhere around 650 calories during sleep each night(7-8 hr.'s). If a person sleeps on 200-300 calories(or less) of food using primarily negative calorie foods(within 3-4 hr.'s of bedtime)...like dill pickles, then, when one first gets up in the morning(before eating)go on a fast pace walk for 30-45 minutes 3x per week. That equals almost 1000 calories burned between the last food before bed and the first breakfast food. One can eat a good size breakfast, lunch, and dinner if they eat right, staying clear of sodas, chips, white breads, biscuits & gravy(eek), excessive juices, fried foods-fast foods, and do drink lots of water. A person can still eat a lot if they eat right, and still yet burn fat. Especially with some excercise added in. |

Re: Diet Foods.
I have had a hard time losing weight for years. People that are really overweight look at me an laugh, but sometimes the last 10 - 15 pounds seem impossible to get off.
I stumbled upon the Sonoma Diet and have finally lost weight and without feeling like I am on a diet. In fact, nobody but my family would even know I am on a diet! I eat healthy high fiber like whole grains, small whole fruits etc. I do not eat sugar on a regular basis, only on occasion. I added Chia seeds to my salads and sandwiches for extra fiber and health benefits. I add a Fiber One drink packet to my water every day for extra fiber too. Basically the Sonoma Diet says to look at your plate in 3rds. One third should be healthy veggies, one third should be a low fat protein, and one third should be a whole grain item. When you have a casserole, you just try to balance out what might not be in the casserole. When we eat out or at other's houses, I just make sure I eat a big salad and then a small portion of what they are serving. I make sure I go out and splurge every couple of weeks on something that is forbidden. ;-) |
