DVR Tech?

Does anyone know how to record something off of your DVR?

The installer told me it could be done with a laptop does anyone know?

You can use your PC and web browser if your using DirecTV.

What do you mean record off of your DVR? If you recorded something to your DVR does it have a CD or DVD burner built in? If not does it have a data line out like USB? If so you might be able to access it as an external drive and then burn what is on it to a DVD. Did it come with software? You might have to install that on the laptop

connect it to the laptop while the laptop is on. Make sure the DVR is off, then turn it on and see if it recognizes it
