The gift of healing

Jesus was whipped for our healing and we have faith that he is our salvation but what about our healing of the body mind and soul? Is there a such thing as the gift of healing or do we all through Jesus have the ability to heal others? What about bondages like alcahol or drugs and ciggeretes? If the gift of healing is given to certain brothers and sisters then who on this forum has that gift? If we all have the ability to heal through Jeus then how do we unlock that gift? Ive read that God is doing a wonderful work in other countries what about the good ole U.S.A.? Is it because we go to docters and depend on the health care sciences and we put God second on our list after we exaust all other fleshly help and find out that we can not put are trust in the arm of flesh? After our lord Jesus Christ was beaten with out mercy are we insulting him?:heart:heart:heart:dogkiss please dont take this wrong I love evry one. I just want to know about healing. Love you all!!!

Jesus died on a cross so that we could be whole again, that includes body, soul, & spirit.
Now there are many reasons why this doesn't happen, but God still desires to heal today!

If you are talking about the "Gifts of healings" mentioned in I Corr, yes I believe it is given.

Also, because it is in the plural, many believe there are different aspects of that gift that can be utilized.
One example, some men are used to heal "Cancers" others "disorders of the blood" & so on.

Seek to bear the fruit of the Spirit before seeking the Gifts.

Because Jesus bore stripes for our healing our healing has been purchased. This means that we healed. The gap between this being done and our receiving it is similar to a person being saved. It is through faith that we receive our salvation. Our salvation was paid in full there is nothing anyone can do except "receive" it by faith. If you don't use your faith you won't receive your salvation.

Many say that they "believe" but their belief is more of a belief that God can instead of their belief being the tool that reaches into the spiritual realm to receive what has been provided.

A sick individual plays a part in receiving their healing. However, just as one can put a thousand to flight and two can put 10K to flight when we come into agreement with anothers faith our faith increase exponentially.

If I have faith that you can be healed, but you don't have faith it is impossible for my faith to override where you are. This is where the "gift" of healing comes in. A person operating in this gift does not need the other persons faith to receive, they only need "access" or "permission" such for this person to operate in their gift. This would be very similar to a Prophetic word. Someone who has the gift of prophecy may have a true word, but the person must "receive" the word.

Many have received a Word that their ministries would grow, people would come in, or resources were going to come available. Then they never see the manifestation of the Word and think that it must have been wrong when in fact they needed to receive the Word using their faith for it to come to pass.

So the "gift" can operate more on it's own although there is still faith involved and not everyone has this "gift." However, we can all develop our faith where we can overcome any sickness, disease, or disability whether it is spirit, soul, or body.

Here's a link of an audio message on how to receive what God has done for us:

...

1 Peter 2:13-25 - "stripes" equals salvation and not a "cure for the common cold" (or worse).

Peter was quoting Isaiah 53:5-6

The "stripes" were for 'healing' the seperation between the sheep that had gone astray and the Shepherd.

He didn't suffer so that we could avoid suffering. He suffered so that He could have fellowship with us in our suffering.

1 Peter 2:20-25

20 "If, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls."

Praise the Lord, I bless you as you battle your colds. As for me I think I am going to stay stuck on stupid and just believe I am well. It seems to be working out very nicely.

Matt 9:29, "...According to your faith be it unto you."

That's wonderful. I am happy that you are well. In time however, you will meet people like this:

and this...

Please don't say anything to them. Try not to stare and don't look them straight in the eye.

Later in life, when you have found the meaning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the incredible message of hope that it has for all people, then feel free to engage folks like this.

Please continue to have a blessed day.

Dear Pelathias,

Allow me to quote Matthew 8:16-17

16)When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
17)That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

You're failing to read the scripture that precedes verse sixteen. The latter of Mark's scripture reads "and healed all that were sick", which is conjoined with a summary (verse 17) of Isaiah's 53:5 quotation, which is being utilized as a indication of physical healing! We are cured by His stripes, as you so bluntly deny!
