Our Murder Mystery Dinner...
Hoovie reminded me about this. I never post about the MMD...so I will now.
We ended up having about 17 guests, (visitors) and it turned out really well. The only thing I would change is the menu....which was: soup bread cornish game hens broasted potatoes Kansas dirt cake tea coffee It was really pretty good. But as I get older...I'm reverting back to my childhood. I eat by sight and smell, if it can't get passed my nose and my eyes, it aint going in my mouth, and that little chicken just didn't make it. Everyone else liked it, including my boys, they ate what we had left. The mystery was solved by......yep you guessed it, me and my hubby. I had to really work at not letting him see the stuff, cause he is a cheater (in a fun way, not too devious) At first, we had a few complainers, but they eventually got over and came any way and had more fun than anyone else. It was easy to do, the people just mingled and got their tasks done in the time I alloted, and in the end it lasted about 2 hours. The clean up was quick, as we had everyone help. Even the visitors chimed in and we had it done in a few minutes. The next time I do one (this will be an annual event) I'll choose a little easier menu. If you don't have a lot of people coming that menu will work wonderfully, but we had over 50 people and it was hard getting everything done on time. Of course, we had 4 people who were really late, like 30 minutes, and they had key parts and I didn't want to have to explain everything twice and pass everything out twice so, we waited on them. That go us off to a late start, but everybody just visited and introduced themselves. It was really a lot of fun. They asked when we were going to do it again. I'll have to find the pictures we took and put them on here. Not sure where they are and how to get them here, I'll have to ask hubby for help, and he is asleep in the floor in front of the fire. (WE went deer hunting this afternoon and almost froze our behinds off, so he got in the floor in front of the fire to warm up and yep, he's conked out.) Anyway that's what happened. |

I would be interested in hearing more about how you did it. I may even have to visit one for myself to find out what they are like.
