Matthew 25
1 Attachment(s)
Earlier today looking through an old Bible that I used to use I came across this article that I had cut out years ago and had placed in there.
You Have Done It Unto Me” I was hungry And you formed a club And discussed my hunger. Thank you. I was imprisoned And you crept off quietly To pray for my release. I was naked, And in your mind You debated the morality Of my appearance. I was sick And you thanked God For your health. I was homeless And you preached to me Of the spiritual shelter Of God’s love. You seem so holy: So close to God, But I’m still very Hungry, and lonely and cold. Author unknown. Of course, I thought about these words that Jesus spoke so many years ago: 31-33"When he finally arrives, blazing in beauty and all his angels with him, the Son of Man will take his place on his glorious throne. Then all the nations will be arranged before him and he will sort the people out, much as a shepherd sorts out sheep and goats, putting sheep to his right and goats to his left. 34-36"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Enter, you who are blessed by my Father! Take what's coming to you in this kingdom. It's been ready for you since the world's foundation. And here's why: I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty and you gave me a drink, I was homeless and you gave me a room, I was shivering and you gave me clothes, I was sick and you stopped to visit, I was in prison and you came to me.' 37-40"Then those 'sheep' are going to say, 'Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?' Then the King will say, 'I'm telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me.' Matthew 25:31-40 from The Message |

Wow, that's a powerful little poem. I want to keep that one.

Re: Matthew 25
That is powerful and a sobering thought.

Re: Matthew 25
Our church is participating in "Room at the Inn". Its a ministry that shelters homeless people in churchs. I will be spending the night with them and helping feed them. Its so little that I can do tho. Ive done this ministry before and its just heartbreaking. Not a lot of warm fuzzies associated with it. Sometimes the reward of doing the Lords work is just knowing you have followed Him.
