Please keep Kara in your prayers....

Please keep my daughter Kara in your prayers...

She was found to be legally blind at age 2. We have tried several things through the last 13 years with the help of LeBonheur doctors to strengthen her vision.

They have been successful somewhat with her right eye, and she has 20/20 vision in the right eye with glasses. However, they have not been so successful with the left eye. There is a deformity in the eyelid that allows it to partially fall across the pupil. This is a big hinderance to them being able to exercise the eye in hopes of restoring some of the vision. They would not consider working on this surgically until she turned 15 years old.

She isn't old enough yet to be a candidate for the lasik procedure, so they are going to do something to the eyelid on her left eye to try and get it where it will stay above the pupil of the eye. This may or may not be accomplished with one procedure. I know God is able to help the surgeon the first time around.... so that she doesn't have to go through another operation.

She wants to have the surgery but she is also very nervous about this surgery. We go tomorrow morning for the pre-op appt. Her surgery will be on Friday.... Prayers are greatly appreciated.

Update 10/8

We went for the pre-op appt today, and they are not able to do this procedure that they wanted to do--which was basically to remove a little of her eyelid tissue. She has been referred to another surgeon who can do the procedure involving the muscles. She will not be having surgery on Friday after all..... I'll update when they reschedule with the new surgeon.

Thanks for the prayers everyone....

Agreeing with Bro. Scott for this precious child, in Jesus Name!
Thank You, Lord Jesus for what You will do for Kara. Also, we
humbly ask that You would take away the fear, in Jesus Name!

Hugs,

Hopefully, you can find a good surgeon that can repair the muscles. I know it is a volatile surgery but I bet it would make a huge difference in her eye.
