It's because the login time out was increased from 20 minutes to an hour. What you're basically seeing is about how many guests we get in an hour, where there would only be a third of those before. :winkgrin

But guest don't log in.

And members that are signed in stay on longer now, so they aren't adding to the number of guest as often as they did when it was only 20 minutes.

Example:
Currently Active Users: 156 (59 members and 97 guests)

High amount of members are signed on and do stay on longer now because of the hour limit, BUT there's still a high number of guests too.
