Looking for a cell phone
My 5 year old got my cell phone wet. Ive been trying to revive it but I really think its fried.
Does anyone have an AT&T cell for sale? |
Re: Looking for a cell phone
does it have to be at&t. thought you could get any cellphone and just change out the SIM card. that's what i did when i switched from att&t to sprint.
i got rid them both though. now i have one of those virgin mobile disposable phones from target. cheaper and easier. no, this isn't a spam message. :) |

I don't know if it has to be AT&T or not.

Do you have insurance? If so, you can get it replaced cheaply, compared to buying a new one. You may be able to get an old one activated.

Re: Looking for a cell phone
I thought we had insurance on our phones but somehow it got overlooked. We've had cells for years so this is the first time we have had to replace a phone on our own.
My older phones don't have a place for a SIM card. They were sprint phones and we just changed carriers last year. |
Re: Looking for a cell phone
If the new phone is not an At&t phone, it will need to be "unlocked". The best source for cheap, unlocked phones is eBay. Just make sure you use a reputable seller. My suggestion? Cheap At&t prepaid and put your SIM in it. Sell the prepaid SIM and airtime on eBay and recoup some of your expense. Sprint doesn't use a SIM-based system. They are CDMA and the user info is programmed by Sprint and attached to the phone's EIN. SIM-based cell phone companies program the user info and link it to the SIM card's EIN.
