Puzzling scriptures

Does anyone else here have certain scriptures that are puzzling to them?

After my sister died recently(she had surgery and developed MRSA and the medication for this infection (vancomycin) caused her death. After my surgery I also developed MRSA at a different hospital and in a different state and the same medication saved my life) While I was grieving for her, a certain bible verse came to mind "....and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy" I am thankful that I am alive but couldn't understand why my sister was taken. I sometimes wonder how God chooses those to whom He is merciful.

There is another verse in Rev 22:11 which stays on my mind. "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still."

God is sovereign. Sometimes tere is no explanation or understanding his ways.

As to the verse Rev 22:11..it speaks to us to be steadfast.

As difficult as it is to accept and get over, there is an time for each to die. When that time comes, I don't believe that it is God being unmerciful at all. Whenever I pray for people, I ultimately pray for the will of God to be done, recognizing that there are situations that are not God's will. In a situation like that, I believe that prayer can reverse it and bring the will of God into being "on earth as it is in Heaven".
