Let's Talk About the Al-Mahdi:
 

Islam is a religion comprised of more than just a philosophy. Islam possesses eschatological prophecies that many Muslims believe whole heartedly. Perhaps the most disturbing prophetic teaching they have is that of their savior, the Al-Mahdi. It is believed that the Al-Mahdi will appear at a time when the world is in great turmoil and Islam is engaged in heated battle. The Al-Mahdi appears and unites the Islamic world into a final Caliphate that will extend the power and teachings of Islam throughout the world. Millions of Islamic fundamentalists are praying for the Al-Mahdi’s appearance as you read this. In the Hadiths and Koran we have a prophetic outline of what this Al-Mahdi will do to achieve this. Let’s take a look at what Islamic Eschatology teaches about the Al-Mahdi:

• He will be Islam's deliverer.
• He is to be a descendent of Muhammad.
• He is to bear the name or some variant name of Muhammad.
• He will look like a Bani Israel.
• He will lead the Muslims and wage jihad against them rest of the world.
• He will re-establish the Caliphate and rule over the world.
• He will cause Islam to be the only religion in the world and rule with Islamic Law.
• He will cause the world to embrace the Islamic calendar.
• He will be much loved by the world.
• He will conquer the Jews and slaughter them.
• He will set up his seat of authority in Jerusalem.
• He will rule for seven years (or 8, or 9).
• He will make a treaty of seven years with a person of priestly lineage.
• He will possess and distribute wealth to the Muslims.
• He will discover a new Torah, Gospel, and the Ark, and will use them to argue and persuade Jews and Christian, and cause many people to follow him into Islam.
• He will have Isa (Islamic version of Jesus) to assist him.
• His assistant, Isa, will kill the ad-Dajjal (Islamic version of the antichrist) who exercises miracles that will torment the world.
• He will mark all men to distinguish Muslims from the infidels, the Muslim's face will then shine while that of a non-Muslim will become black.
• During his rule, there will be good rain, great harvest and crops.
• He will not work miracles; rather the working of miracles is attributed to Isa (the Islamic Jesus) who testifies to the world that Al-Mahdi is Savior.

So... what are some thoughts regarding the al-Mahdi?

I think this is a very important subject. Most don't realize how important. For example, everyone killed on 9/11 was killed by Islamic radicals who believed that they are hastening the coming of the al-Mahdi by distablizing the world. This is their chief aim in regards to Terror. Most wonder "Why?" It's rooted in the al-Mahdi. Every soldier engaging Islamic radicals right now in Iraq and Afghanistan are engaging militant radicals who want to see the coming of the al-Mahdi and the re-establishment of the Islamic Caliphate.

We are already at war with is followers all over the world... and this "al-Mahdi" hasn't even appeared yet.

Friends and brethren... this is BIG.

I think that the Koran has a mixture of teachings from both the Christians and Jews mixing in some of their own ideology.

I read something the other day:

Allah wants you to die for him
Jesus wanted to die for you

That pretty well sums up what I think of the Islamic religion.

I also bring to mind the scripture from the Word of God -

1 John 4:4 "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."

Islam appears to be making headway all over the world. Passion is the energy that fuels achievement, for good or evil. Hitler was very passionate, and he succeed and causing horrific evil to most of the whole world.

Islam is on the same path, the lack of passionate response is the reason they can bomb largest city in the US, then a president with a very Muslim name is elected within ten years, and now a mosque is being approved almost on the site of the downed buildings.

Those that oppose Obama and those that oppose this mosque are viewed as quacks!! That is at least in the mainstream media and Hollywood, who are, whether they know it or not committing acts of treason everyday. That's why we have a soldier, hack and release sensitive military material to the enemy. In another time he would be court-martialled and executed, but it hardly raise and eyebrow today, it actually is quite pathetic.

While it seems that we have established "theories" regarding a European Antichrist "reviving" the Roman Empire. Those theories have become so very outlandish and as the EU political machine changes and liberalism sweeps Europe we're left doubting that Europe could ever produce a global power like the Beast. Besides... the Middle East would just have to close their spicket of oil to send the European continent into an economic tail spin. A European Antichrist would simply not have the fuel to subjugate the Muslim world.

However, an Islamic Antichrist would have the world by the neck with regards to oil. Imagine a man believed to be the al-Mahdi brining Islamic masses all over the world into a chanting, singing, praising, militant frenzy. Imagine the effect of a unified “global Jihad”. Imagine the UN meeting with this “religious leader” who claims to be the “Guided One” of Islam. Imagine American ambassadors meeting with him, being so very careful not to ignite global indignation among Muslims everywhere. Imagine speeches on the UN floor, riddled with religious jargon, and noble speeches of unity and peace regarding the Islamic world.

I believe that Islam will be the chosen vehicle of the final Antichrist.

Madhi is warned about in Sunni teachings. Ths Shia however are teaching about and waiting his return.

It is one of the fundamental difference in beliefs. We are not Shia, thanks for asking. We, as you, are predicted to go to war against the Madhi and his followers. So it is said.

It's my understanding that the Shia believe that the al-Mahdi has been in occultation since the time of Mohammad (PBUH). The Sunni believe he'll be a man of his generation. Is this correct?

Also, are the beliefs listed as assocated with the al-Mahdi correct???

These six books are: Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sahih al-Tirmidhi, Sunan Ibn Majah, Sunan Abu Dawud, and Sahih al-Nisa'i. I just quote few traditions from these six books to prove that a knowledgeable Sunni brother/sister can NOT deny that:

al-Mahdi (AS) will come in the last days to make a universal Government,
al-Mahdi (AS) is from the Ahlul-Bayt of the Prophet (PBUH&HF),
al-Mahdi (AS) is from the progeny of Fatimah (AS), the daughter of the Prophet (PBUH&HF),
al-Mahdi (AS) is different than Prophet Jesus (the Messiah),
Prophet Jesus (AS) will come as one of the followers of Imam al-Mahdi and will pray behind him in congressional prayer.

There is no mention of the Mahdi in the Quran and very little mention in the hadiths. The Prophet spoke in a few hadiths of a "Mahdi" or guided one who will unite Muslims in a great future battle against the Dajjal. The guided one who was spoken of in the Hadiths is an ordinary man who leads Muslims during a time of great trial.

There are, however, a lot of writings about the Dajjal who will rule the world at the end of time.

Sunni scholars currently compare the Dijjal (antichrist) to the Shia Mahdi with the same cheerfulness that in some in your own circles compare the antichrist to the Pope. The Dijjal will present himself as a savior. He will be followed by both Jews and misguided Muslims. He will be able to perform great miracles, including raising the dead. His kingdom is said to begin in the east and spread to Medina, but he will be excluded from Mecca. Arabia will fall to him. There will be a leader who unites an army to oppose him. In only one Hadith is this leader referred to by the prophet as a "Mahdi" or "guided one".

Only when Isa (Jesus) returns to earth to rule will the Dijjal be destroyed.

I personally do not believe that Islam is the anti-Christ. I do believe that it is AN anti-Christian religion, but regarding prophecy, I view the unregenerated nature of man as more dangerous than the religion of islam.

I have read and reread this speech several times. It is being discussed in inner circles. I believe that is because of the fear of being labeled "Doomsday" sayers. I have never been one to be of the "Chicken Little" sorts, but this speech is bothersome.

Below is a partial of the speech given by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the UN General Conference.

Their arrival will breed a new life in the cold and frozen hearts and body of the world.
He will bless humanity with a spring that puts an end to our winter of ignorance, poverty and war. Through the tidings of a season of blooming, he puts an end to the winter of ignorance for humanity.
Now, we can see and we can sense the sweet scent and the soulful breeze of the spring — a spring that has just begun and doesn’t belong to a specific race, ethnicity, nation, or region; a spring that will soon reach all the territories in Asia, Europe, Africa and America. He will be the spring of all, the justice-seekers, freedom- lovers and the followers of heavenly prophets. He will be the spring of humanity and the greenery of all ages.
Let us join hands and clear the way for his eventual arrival with empathy and cooperation, in harmony and unity.
