Why More Murder Suicide Roadrage Domestic Violence

In the last 10 years, murder/suicide, road rage, domestic and workplace violence have increased. Homicides have decreased.

WHY??

Today on the Dallas news, a child directed the police to the decapitated head of his Mother in the trash can.
In the headlines, murder and violence are unrealistic sounding as if the criminal minds could not be that of humans?

Why? Prescription mind altering drugs which are also sold on the street... painkillers? illegal drugs?

I read an incredibly said news story today. Somewhere in Ca on a rural country road several cars came upon a pickup truck stopped in the road facing the wrong direction.

When they god closer they saw a man out of the truck beating, kicking, and stomping a young child, just a toddler.

Several of the people tried to intervene and stop him but he just pushed them away and went back to beating the child. The witnesses had called the police who sent a helicopter with an armed officier.

When the man refused to stop kicking and beating the child the officier shot and killed the man. The child was already dead though.

I can't imagine what a little toddler could have done to make a man do that.

I read about this and almost posted it on the you or me thread, but changed my mind because I got so upset thinking about a grown man beating a toddler this way. Good grief! I don't know what got into this man. I wish the police had gotten there sooner.

That is so very heartbreaking.....I can't understand such cruelty either. To take your frustrations or anger out on a baby (much less any human) is just beyond my thinking....:(

It's the way of the world and will only get worse. Pray for this country and that God's will be done.

One of the men that tried to stop him said he said the baby was full of demons.

I would like to see some stats that suggest there is more of these crimes that before...

and before what? what period are we talking about?

could it be that we live in a time when information is so pervasive that we find out what is happening all over the place where before, we were more localized in our informaiton?

I tend to believe that that is a correct assumption.

Yes. I know of stories that happened years ago that are just as horrifying, but never received any media coverage. Or police intervention for that matter. We just have more information now. I do believe that more people are under more pressure, which causes them to do stupid things, but the really horrible stuff has always been around.

I have a close friend whose mother was raped repeatedly by her stepfather, and wound up having two sons by him by the time she was 14. The mother let it go on and raised the boys as the girls brother. She got brave at one point and said she was going to turn him in, at which point he took her out in the country and beat her and left her for dead. She crawled back to the road and someone found her and took her to the hospital. She wound up living on the streets after that. The police never did a thing. This was 40 years ago.

I know many stories just as horrifying from years ago, it is not just a symptom of the age, it is the consequences of sin in the world.

agreed. I know some pretty wild stories too.

i was watching the history channel this morning and it was about Chicago during prohibition. those folk were pretty out of control.

I think part of our problem is we know more, and part of our problem is, there are more of us. Things seem worse but are they really? i dont know.
