No. Their own convictions don't mean squat. The teachings of Jesus mean everything. Telling people when they can't have sex is about as Phariseeical as it gets. I don't even think my Messianic friends interpret this verse as you do.

What is "church?" Where are you getting this idea from?

What about meeting with other believers in my home (very Apostolic)? Same thing? Are we talking just Sundays or every time we come together?

What about when I pray in the morning? Or pray at night? Or pray in the afternoon? Isn't that time set apart?

Actually assembling together is less about the purpose of each individual having a moment with God as much as encouraging and edifying each other. That's more biblical.

Then you have no logical or biblical leg to stand on, DM. That's called "picking and choosing" and then calling it a conviction. If you don't want to touch your lady on Sundays, that's fine. If you feel that helps you better honor God. It's sin when you start putting something that God didn't require on others.

Maybe you have put the Spirit in a box. You've cordoned it off into the section of emotional hype, and have not given room to the full function of the Spirit daily in our lives. Perhaps?
