All I get for answers from you preterists are MORE questions in place of answers!!!
What is hilarious is not that you are questioning me, it is the fact that you are questioning the plain teaching of your Bible itself. You are in disarray and disagreement with whom all, including yourself can see clearly written in the Bible. In your melted down preterist brain you actually think like this when reading this passage....
12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:(this is not a literal wall, even though I can clearly see it is)
13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.(these 4 sets of 3 gates per direction only "metaphorically" exist, even though I have no explanation for them, aw shucks!)
14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.(these are not really 12 foundations to a city, just something else symbolic of something else)
15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.(I realize it is close to 1,400 miles square, but I am sure it is not real, as meticulously described on this passage. maybe Mike has something in his book to teach me what 1,400 miles means "spiritually")
18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.(I dont believe that God can create transparent gold. Everyone knows gold is yellow. Either God is color blind or this means something else.... Help Mike!!!)
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.(do you really expect me to believe that God would go through all the trouble to beautify the city foundations with precious stones? Nah, He what we now see is what we get.)
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.(gates?, street?. Impossible!!!,,,,this means clearly something else, though I dont have Mikes' book handy to explain the "other' meaning of them)
Sitting in a prophecy class for preterists would be absolutely comical, when the big book of preterists' explanations is distributed to the attendees. I would make the preterist explain this passage in detail until everyone started cracking up!!!
