So here is my argument:
It's strange that you look on the old testament prophets as if there was absolute certainty by everyone in their time that they spoke from God... There has never been and shall never be an absolute certainty in determining if a man speaks on behalf of God. So whatever was enough evidence for them that a man spoke on behalf of God should be acceptable to you that a man speaks on behalf of God. If I'm not mistaken a prophet of old had to do two things, his prophecies had to come to pass and he could not say anything contrary to their scriptures. So since you believe it is possible for God to give a command through a prophet for people to commit genocide then I ask if you would take part in genocide if all that prophets other prophecies had came to pass and he never spoke anything contrary to scripture. Personally I wouldn't care how many prophecies he had given and how many miracles he had done, I would not take part in such a thing. Would you?
