The message stated it would be covered at Canada Conference- needless to say the survey was not beat to death so could anyone please stand up and ask if the individual who sent the message out asked his fellow ministers to disregard his notice and apologize for any direction he gave.

Ministers have a right to respond- garbage can or not - I don't think it is anything to be proud of if you didn't respond or are for an issue that is controversial...there is and will be a time to say "yes" or "no"

We get mad at our Saints for acting like that! don't we?

If every member has the right to send out surveys, without official sanction, the end result is chaos. One would have to ask why the survey wasn't submitted to the Board of the UPCC before distribution? Was there an intentional disregard for the Board?

Did the author send the letter from an official capacity (Does the author(s) hold any office in the UPCC?), or did he (they) send it as a concerned member? What was on the letterhead?

Why do mad preachers always blame the saints for their condition?

That makes me wonder Mapleleaf also why do they? I lived long enough to see it from both sides!

No offense to any preacher or saint!

I wished sometimes the saints would take a stand and line up the preacher:lol

Fellowship and lunch at the Delta after the morning service. Didn't get home until after 3. :)

Fantastic service last night! Worship was great! Bro. Kinsey did a great job preaching. Bro. D&J was chosen to be "Jesus" - ran through a pack of devils. Woohoo! :lol

The Dip was chosen for fellowship and lunch after service and we didn't get home until way after 12.

Bro. Kinsey is having to leave early :( so he's preaching this morning instead of tonight. I think Bro. Trapani is going to be the evening speaker.

I'm having an awesome time. There are no words to describe how great it's been. Well, actually there are - maybe I'll do that later!

Pastors lead churches by a Divine calling and by the permission of the people. (If the people don't show up tomorrow morning, the man in the dark suit is not a pastor, he's just a janitor with big hair.)

In a local congregation, the political power belongs to the majority of the people, a fact which often frustrates the minority groups who want to dominate a congregation. There's nothing that has the ability to wag like a tail trying to move a dog, or a tongue trying to control a congregation.

Lining up a preacher is God's job, and He is good at His work, but saints have the ability to choose the teacher they will submit themselves to.

All this pastoral power that is fodder for ten thousand Internet discussions is a myth. Any saint that ain't happy with their shepherd will have very little difficulty in finding a new and improved shepherd to lead them to fresh green pastures.

Once again Maple Leaf rings the proverbial golden bell.

This fact is what makes it a little hard for me to swallow all this propaganda about the epidemic of spiritual abuse sweeping Pentecost.:)

I think it depends on the person. Some people are more susceptible to control and fear. Others would walk out the door at the first hint of it. The latter don't understand the former.

Internet forums are like some testimony services. They give a voice to people that no one will listen to at any other time. In the real world you have to be credible for people to respect your opinion. On the Internet all you need is a modem and a few birds of a feather.

Just exactly who is the person that you refer to as "The Dip?"
