Other than a few folks here on AFF has anyone found some real critics attacking University of South Africa?

ANYONE?

Hoovie the first post of your is your response to me posting (Cut and Paste) from their website the requirements from their degrees.

I didn't post the link on purpose, I didn't want everyone to know immediately what school it was.

Just look at your response based on what you saw from what they required.

No one accused it of being a diploma mill. However, it would not be accredited in the states as ast, for thesis only.

nevertheless, the subject is not the college, it is why the president of the only upci seminary would choose to go there. When a masters at his own seminary cost 8 times as much and doesn't do life experience instead of taking classes.

bump for hoovie

No, not really Baron - it was based on nothing at all. I posted that to have fun with you.

In fact I assumed the entire thread purpose was a spoof of sorts form the "other" one.

But Hoovie that's the point, you thought it was a joke and I was posting the requirements directly from their website.

If I posted the requirements of a PhD program from any state school in the country you would have thought, that looks like a lot of work and heavy commitment. You wouldn't have answered so flippantly.

Apostolic Pentecostal School Faculty List -- random sample

Steven Beardsley
Bachelor of Arts, University of Delaware 1994 (in what?)
Master of Theological Studies, The Divinity School, Harvard University 1996
ABD, Doctor of Philosophy, Temple University (SOLID) :thumbsup

Dr. Jeffrey Brickle
A.L.B., Harvard University, 1994
M.A., Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, 1999 SOLID
Ph.D., Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, 2010 SOLID :thumbsup

David Norris
Ph.D., Temple University, 2000
M.A.T.S., Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1992
B.A., Neumann College, 1989 SOLID :thumbsup

Dan Segraves
M.A. in Exegetical Theology, Western Seminary (1993) :thumbsup
Th.M., Western Seminary (2003)
Ph.D., Regent University (ABD) :thumbsup

Nathaniel J. Wilson, Ed.D.,
Doctorate of Education from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. (A no-name school for Computer Science majors)
Master of Arts in Religion from Vanguard University (Good school. Religion is broad major, and Vanguard isn't a theological school, it's a liberal arts school)
Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Theology from Christian Life College. (no comment)

Paul J. Baumeister, Ph.D.,
Doctorate of Organizational Leadership from Regent University (Solid degree. Not primarily-focused with theology)
Master of Arts in Religion from Vanguard University (Same as his pastor -- not a theological school, and the Masters in Religion program is so broad compared to theology degrees)

So you know we aren't picking on Oneness Pentecostalism. This list shows some progress. I have some commentary in there that show concerns, but this is a sampling based on two school's pages... add in life experience and meeting people at meetings announced as "Doctor" so-and-so and later learning their doctorate was unrelated to the field they were visiting for (usually theology) and that it was from a school no one knew.

Even with the list above, South Africa University just doesn't fit.

(Only concern is when they don't state what their major was and just put the school name)

Why not? Don't you want only the finest? Where does your credibility lie without it?

We settle for some medium of academic excellence and pocketbook debt. We don't go for the cheapest AND easiest process, one should choose a good happy medium. And there are MANY.

Another thing is, other than Yale Divinity, the other Ivy League schools' religion programs aren't so great.

This is another un-related concern of mine: Christian colleges sending new pastors into debt, and into fields that aren't careers, but are serving positions. Reform needed!

I posted the links check them out for yourself.

IF the question is NOT the integrity or credibility of the college, then this thread is sort of moot is it not?

Simply ask DKB why he choose that sometime (then dissect his response if you feel it's warranted).

Do renowned US schools never use any "life experiences"?

With or without a doctorate, is it your position DKB is somehow not qualified to head up a seminary?

Quite honestly I did not even read all you originally posted, so it's wrong to assume I thought anything.
