I couldn't disagree more.

How can you teach what you have never learned?

If you don't read the original languages and your not schooled in theology how are you going to teach it?

You didn't say be a pastor, though even there I would prefer an educated pastor, you said teacher.

Exactly.

Not so much about DKB as about the question in general for me. Why is this a repeat situation in Apo circles?

I predict a "Well the disciples didn't go to Bible School" type argument.

YAWN

People who lived in the time and place, physically walked with the greatest Rabbi (teacher) ever. The early believers were in the hands of a man Jesus picked that sat at the feet of Gamiliel and was an extremely educated man. Guess it wouldn't have mattered if he learned from Gamiliel or Pilate though.

The funny thing is I have no desire to pastor, yet I struggle with going back to school next year for a degree that is more "secular" or more along the theological lines. I want to understand the Bible better. I want to learn more about the culture, languages, presuppositions, etc. of the early church.

Yet people who make their living at it don't find it enticing apparently.

Well... those last 12 pages were uh..mm... embarrassing.

Other than a few folks here on AFF has anyone found some real critics attacking University of South Africa?

ANYONE?

(yes this was said earlier in the thread, though others won't go that far

What? One of the largest Universities in the world with "no classes", "sub-par academic", pennies on the dollar "institutions" and it did not get an exposé in Bears' Guide to Earning Degrees by Distance Learning??

I really don't know what the watchdog groups say about University of South Africa, but if it's a cover for the real thing, seems someone would have written extensively about just that.

I'm listening...

But why South Africa University?

Why must there always be something to it? Why?

We all had to Google the school. Included you, Hoovie. Why?

Such a trend here.

According to African University, it's ranked in the Top 100.

If that means something for you.

Furthemore, Baron has shown that the academic expectations are much inferior to the American ATS-related schools.

Apparently you didn't really read the last 28 pages.

No one accused it of being a diploma mill. HOWEVER, it would not be accredited in the states as AST, for thesis only.

NEVERTHELESS, the subject is not the college, it is why the president of the only UPCI seminary would choose to go there. When a masters at his own seminary cost 8 times as much and doesn't do life experience instead of taking classes.

Anyone here attend/ed Ivy League schools?

Why not? Don't you want only the finest? Where does your credibility lie without it?
