Re: Can Women Pastor ?
I don't like to even get into these endless discussions...people can take the Bible an PROVE about whatever they want it to say...
Drink wine...do not drink wine... All kinds of IDEAS what modest may mean... Women cannot preach but testify...lead songs, teach SS classes.... Some doubted Paul's right to be an apostle... Some take scriptures out of their context an culture... I don't fuss with one side or the other for neither side will JUDGE on that day...I have been a missionary now over 41 years an I know my voice brought spiritual life to people enchained by terrible darkenss of devil worship and idols...I consider myself one of Paul's helpers a a mother in Zion... The sitting of the early church did not even consist for the most part in church building and preaching behind pulpits...Acts tells about men and WOMEN that went EVERYWHERE PREACHING… Your sons and daughters shall prophecy….is also seen in the NT… An like I have said hundreds of times NO Godly woman would ever want to rule over a man but at the same time I cannot imagine a GODLY woman letting someone perish if she could throw in the lifeline…I don’t think you will find me straightening pictures in a burning house… Ruth's sickle may be rust but her spirit is still golden....Let me go glean the fields... |

Also, do you allow women to teach Sunday school, or sing in the choir? Or do you really believe women are to be silent??? |

Rom 16:3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: I cor 16:19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house. Here is an example of a woman preaching/teaching Jesus. |
Re: Can Women Pastor ?
Acts 8 talks about men and women...
Study the church councils and you will find early church women did a lot in the work of the Lord...Just as the councils changed baptism mode they also took the women from church work... |
Re: Can Women Pastor ?

Re: Can Women Pastor ?
What gets me is the willingness of some to argue even in the face of truth. I will ask the answer to several questions, that I always understood to be settled for all time. I later undestood the answer to these questions was not as clear cut as I was taught all my life.
1. Does Deut. 22:5 teach a women cannot wear pants? 2. Does Proverbs 20:1, 23:31, teach it is sin to drink alcoholic beverages? 3. Does 1Cor. 11:1-15 teach it is sin for a women to cut her hair? 4. does 1Timothy 2:9, 1 Peter 3:3, teach it is sin for women to wear jewlery? The answer to all these questions is NO!!!! Yet we in our western society have taken these and many other scriptures to build performance based religions. That take away the light of the grace of God, and the personal relationship with God and turned it into doctrines of man and not of God. When are we going to learn it is not about heaven and hell, but it is about relationship with God right now on earth. 2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Many of us have become the Pharisee of our day Matt 15:1-11 |

Esther.............
Pls. provide the Scripture where a woman EVER preached to a church congregation:_______________?
So if my wife & I had a church meeting weekly in our house, I suppose that she's automatically a "minister/preacher"???????????? Unreal how folks will go to any extreme to force their pre-conceived notions into the literal text, which NEVER states the same. Ever heard of an "Argument from Silence"? I'm plumb astounded that women preachers would appeal to Acts 8, since it plainly says that the women were "in prison"!!!! How could they "WENT everywhere preaching" from a prison cell???????????????? The verse in question grammatically points back to vs. 1 {& this is about the 3rd time that I've dealt w/ this now}. Regarding Sis. Alvear, I've repeatedly said that I honor her sacrifice wholly & respect her for it [& have even contributed to their cause]. However, this does necessitate an endorsement of her 'preaching.' It's one thing to honor the persons sacrifices, yet quite another to agree w/ their every doctrine. When it comes to the women preacher issue, I whole-heartedly disagree & can demonstrate so Biblically. But, I still respect her for the sacrifices that she's made. Blessings................ |
