No, they shouldn't go tooooo long without a Pastor and I must add i believe they would be wanting a Pastor who preaches just like Peter did on the day of Pentecost. it would seem it wasn't long making the news to this part of the world:sshhh

The AFF News Service publishes breaking news before it even happens.

Today's headline: "One of 10 AD Ministers Under 35 Goes West"

Unconfirmed: Have any of AFF's roving reporters heard any rumour of the start of a non-traditional oneness church in a city between Blackville and Bathurst?

Today's headline is old news I heard about it last week, your late Alvin.

This new non-traditional oneness church never heard about it.I didn't realize the Renous had that big of a population.

D&J, did you attend George Corney Jr's funeral? I imagine it was very well attended service. I would like to have been there.

Yes I did and I was honored to be asked to be a pallbearer.

It was very well attended with over 50 preachers present and the church was packed with people downstairs and everywhere.

I am still processing the fact that my friend is gone, it is really hard to beleive.

Was this an accident, or sudden illness- he was young!

(I am not that old myself and these kind of postings make me wonder what would be said of me if I was gone tomorrow)

I'm glad there was a good turnout. Of course I would expect there to be in the AD. George was a nice guy. It must be quite a blow to the congregation to have lost two pastors as a result of sudden heart attacks in just a few years time.

I told my wife that was thinking of having it written into my will that $10.00 be handed out to everyone who attends my funeral just to make sure someone shows up. :)

This brings to mind a topic that I have been thinking about for some time, not the need for a non-traditional Oneness church in every city from Bonavista to Vancouver Island, but the exodus of men from ministry.

Are there temporary ministry assignments today?

In the Old Testament, God would call a prophet from gathering figs or tending flocks, commission him to deliver a message to the nation, and then allow him to fade back into the farmlands. His ministry was only for a moment.

There are missionaries who have a lifetime calling while others are only sent on temporary assignments. Is the same not true with pastoral ministry? Are men who minister for a time and then leave ministry for secular employment guilty of putting their hand to the plough and looking back, or are they just men who were given a temporary ministry assignment?

I have not heard the rumour of a new church in New Brunswick's newest city, but I think it's a great idea. Bushville needs the Gospel as much as any other place in this Pentecostal province. (I would have suggested Tain'tville, but it's not central enough to service the city)

Of course there are. My mom is hoping ours is a temporary assignment. Just got off the phone with her and told her she might better be thinking "long term" instead.

I just returned from a bit of family vacation - spending last week in Vancouver/Victoria visiting with relatives and having some "fun". Everytime I head to Vancouver I'm struck by it's incredible natural beauty and the unique blend of urban jungle with natural wonders such as mountains, the ocean, and the beautiful lush vegetation of the area!

However, if I lived there I'm not sure I could endure the chronically congested and inadequate road system of the area.

I drove by People's Church in Surrey and thought of you and Felicity but was unable to attend on Sunday as we went with my wife's aunt to PVR's in New West..... We were staying at her house and were sort of expected to go to church with her....

I understand you when you speak of feeling obligated to attend your mother-in-law's church with her. I think this is the proper thing to do. You should have contacted us and we could have had a coffee together.

Ron, did you get to Spanish Banks the other day? We went for a few hours. It's certainly a beautiful area. It was really crowded because of the holiday, so it took us a while to find a parking space. We tried the fish and chips at one of the concession stands. They were quite good, except a little overcooked.

To the Western Canadians...I just viewed a two minute or so segment on Good Morning America about Telegraph Cove, B.C.

It was breathtakingly beautiful...:thumbsup

Yes I did. We grabbed some KFC and had dinner on the beach.
Tide was in when we got there but still a beautiful place to watch the mountains, the ocean, and the freighters at anchor.

Forget everything else for a while.:hypercoffee

So sorry to hear about Donna's passing. I heard it was a nice funeral and that Donna had planned it herself. Your Aunt R looked pretty good. How is she feeling? Remember how she always quoted that scripture before she would sing years and years ago "Neither heigth nor depth shall ever separate me ...." How are husband S, daughter H, and son C doing?
