Ron, keep posting...
However consider other opinions...
Some things I don´t care for even in worship but someone else likes them...we must at least try to understand each other. Some may be more right or left than others but we do have some common ground.
I try to look for the good in everybody.

Compromise with an enemy?

It is not compromise to re-evaluate nonbiblical traditions and alter course.

Do you honestly think the devil cares if we do and don't do some of the things you consider "compromise?"

I think he is pleased that the church has "shut up Heaven" for the last thirty years Ron. We do his work while he sits back and laughs.

Well, that is I am afraid wrong.

Some things are good & some things are right!

It is truly revealing that you lump me in with Daniel in the hope that I will be insulted. Ron, I have never disagreed more vehemently with anyone on this forum more than I have with Daniel. Further, I am not anti-UPC, and I resent your implication that I am. I have every right to express an opinion that varies from the official party line.

You are not discussing the issue here. You are relying on personal attacks. It seems that since you became a card-carrying member of justpreachers.com that you have gone off the deep end.

You absolutely have the right to state your opinion on AFF. You just better be prepared to defend it. Especially when it is pretty indefensible.

I don't want to go to every service and have it a concert atmosphere with complex lighting and fog effects.

However for special services or even special songs within a serivce it can be effective at setting a mood or atmosphere just as certain kinds of organ music do the same.

To just out and out state special lighting and fog effects have no place in any church service is a broad statement that is absolutely going to come under question.

Doesn't mean its not allowed her or we don't want you here though. If you want to state the sky is green and the moon made of cheese you are welcome to.

Again, CC1 I have stated my opinion, everyone knows it, & in the interest of peace, I would just like to drop it.

I will say, if anyone from that Church is offended at my opinion or anything else I posted here.

I apologize!

CC1, I added the "y" (bolded). I believe saying "our" would be counter-productive in your argument to Ron. :ursofunny

LOL!!!! What a place for a typo. I went back and edited the original post.

Unfortunately this board has changed as well.

You have wondered why people have left, are leaving, or are wary at coming back, it is because you are not allowed another opinion unless it is a liberal one.

I stated a comment about those things mentioned above about not having a place in an Apostolic worship service---and every body takes it personal.

Once more one can not discuss nor have an opinion to the contrary if one is to post here.

Someone told me this board would end up in this place.

I chose not to believe them.

Alas, I was wrong.

Ron,

You know, I must respectfully disagree with you here. To link the reason why some ultra/conservatives stopped posting cannot be blamed on differences of opinion. Differences of opinion are tolerated but spirits and attitudes of obstinance and arrogancy which have no basis in scripture are not.

There have been many excellent posts brought up on this particular thread. One in particular was that from Renda about how that God really blessed a young man through his worship to God using the talent he felt God had given him [drum playing]. Some people don't believe drums have a place in church, while others don't believe in strobe lights but what we think and feel is not important...it is what God's word says.

Unless you can base your 'opinion' on more than just a 'feeling' then your opinion is just that , your opinion. Everyone has a right to their own opinion but what we don't have a right to do is add to, or take away from, the word of God.

I think it very consistent when those who rarely post...show their head when there is a conflict between conservative/traditional views and views that don't fit in their little box and bring their amen corner in only to retreat when they have had their say.

Just my opinion, not Biblically based.

Blessings, Rhoni

Wouldn't you be?
And I do accept the apology.

Backing away from this discussion.
Night all!

Your Pastor is a wonderful man of God.
I enjoy his teaching & have used parts of it in the past.

Let my opinion not be a reflection on your Church or your Brothers & Sisters.
I did not see this post earlier as I have been in and out, as we went to a Church Blessing.

Again accept my apologies as you and perhaps others were offended.

I will drop the subject now as I do not want to stir things up or to be taken out of context again.

God Bless!

Ron

I wasn't trying to insult you PP, but I think a lot of your posts are broad brushed to an extant that if any believes "any standards" of the UPC, they are legalists &
not "following the lead of the Spirit" into all things liberal.

I am sorry, but it comes across that way.

Ron,

You are a good guy and work hard not to be offensive. I know you did not mean to personally offend any of your fellow Canadians who go to the church that is known f or the lighting and fog effects at youth events.

You were stating your personal opinoin and the shoe fit when they read it so they responded.

Nobody is the bad guy here.

Ron, FWIW, I think you have a right to express your opinion here! I may not agree with you, but I'll stand behind your right to say what you believe. If that's how you really believe, there's no need to apologize!

This is outright foolishness, and you know better.

I will not defend myself against this rubbish any further.

Believe what you will.
