A tree fell on the line. They had the top of the tree cut off at this point, and were in the process of removing the tree to fix the problem.

There are still two million people without power!

Wow, Sister, I just looked at my outage map. South Florida, Palms, Broward, and Dade are the only ones without outages. I’m so glad you have your power back on. Most of the state is without power to some degree. But, don’t worry, those electric lines over in Utah may freeze up with a blast of ice cold canyon wind during a blizzard. Thank Jesus you had no further damage other than electric. What did you use to make coffee?

I brewed coffee ahead of the hurricane and stored it in Mason jars in the fridge. I also made a ton of ice. After the power went out, I made iced lattes. It worked so well that it is now an official part of hurricane prep.

I also have some big tree limbs down in my yard. One of which is blocking my car. I need to saw it into pieces to take to the curb. Lots of yard debris.

Tornado outbreak Wednesday, as Hurricane Milton drew toward Florida. This image was from the National Weather Service at one point, showing just some of the warnings.

About 170 tornadoes warnings
20 reports of tornadoes in the ground
Substantial damage
Sadly, deaths have been confirmed 💔
(Waiting on confirmed numbers)

Palm Beach County, Martin County, St Lucie County, Indian River County, Brevard County, Okeechobee County - all have damage reported. And we are just starting to learn about the Tampa area and surrounding areas.

Re: Hurricane coming towards Florida :(

The tornados that spawned were classified EF3
so, equivalent to a Cat 5 hurricane. Part of the reason 3.2 million people lost power. Somes homes, radio stations, and cell phone and Internet hubs were obliterated. At one point I had no power, water, internet or cell phone service. But hey, I had coffee.

EF3 tornadoes are classified on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, indicating significant damage.

*EF3 Tornado Characteristics:*

1. Wind speeds: 136-165 mph (218-266 km/h)
2. Damage: Severe, with severe roof damage, wall collapse, and mobile homes destroyed
3. Typical damage examples:

- Severe roof loss, exterior walls collapsed
- Mobile homes obliterated
- Trees debarked
- Heavy cars tossed

*EF3 Tornado Facts:*

1. Account for 5-10% of all tornadoes
2. Typically affect 1-5 square miles
3. Average path length: 50-100 miles
4. Duration: 10-30 minutes

*Notable EF3 Tornadoes:*

1. Joplin, MO (2011): 158 deaths, $2.8 billion damage
2. Moore, OK (2013): 24 deaths, $2 billion damage
3. Greensburg, KS (2007): 11 deaths, $1.7 billion damage

How did you saw the tree limbs into pieces?

Working on it, using a tree saw.
The branch has pretty much been sawn up.

Part of the pile still by the carport

Part of the pile taken down to the curb

Thankfully, I'm somewhat strong from weight lifting and can carry up to 50 lbs.
