Actually I got to reconnect with many people, who were very gracious, kind, and welcoming to Felicity and I. Actually the fellowship continues as we are getting together with some others who have invited us to lunch or to their homes this week.

Actually I got to see some folks on your list. I saw Destiny and Pelet, and D & J was there, but I have no idea who that is. I didn't see Triple E, but he may have been there. I saw your grandmother from a distance, but regret that I never got to speak with her. She is one of my favorite people!

Grateful to the Lord that you are well, Elder, and having a great time with old friends. :)

Your post brought back a memory of RAB. Every year, almost without fail, he would find me at the Cork Campgrounds and tell me, "Brother, this is not a one day camp meeting." I guess old habits die hard.

I have been pondering your mishap on the way to Summer Summit, and I can only come up with one Scriptural precedent. When Balaam was on his way where God didn't want him to go, the angel of the Lord stood in the way, and his vehicle was turned aside into the field.:slaphappy

(Numbers 22:23) "And the ass saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into the way."
One way or the other, I'm glad you came out of the accident without getting your foot crushed, or anything else for that matter. It sounds like you and Felicity were truly blessed to be at Summer Summit. Some of the best people that God has anywhere serve the Lord in the UPC in New Brunswick. I look forward to the day when the present issues that divide will only be a distant memory and we will all worship together once again.

I did not get there this morning but from all reports Bro. Kinsay did a great job again this morning!

Pastor,

This post piqued my curiosity when I first read it, but I forgot to respond. Could you give a brief synopsis of Bro. Kinsey's message(s), and perhaps a few comments of your own as to how the "word" he brought particularly relates to the AD.

Later I asked him, "Why on earth did you decide to drive that road?!!! Route #6 is notoriously bad and way out in the boonies like that you're wayyyy more apt to run into wildlife on the highway."

He said that he went that way because of nostalgia. On our trips to the Bangor area we used to travel it some. There are lots of "yes ma'ams" and you can have some fun with those!

You know what those are, right? Where you crest the top of a hill and the road dips sharply. If you hit them just right it's kind of like a rollercoaster ride. :lol

If you had been there ML *ahem* you would have gotten it straight from the horse's mouth. ;) :D

I wish you'd come and spoken to me Rachel. I would love to have talked with you. Problem is at times it was almost necessary to take a number and wait in line. :lol

I never saw your mom either. Was she there? Did see your dad a couple times though and got to at least say HI to him.

Rachel 07-03-2007 07:04 AM

I noticed - I almost came over a couple of times but there were so many people who probably wanted to 'catch up.' It's all good! I'm sure there'll be another time where we can 'meet.' :)

Mom was there Thursday & Friday.. She and Shawna headed back to E'dston on Saturday as Shawna took the services there.

My mom was mentioning you and your sister at the table at breakfast this morning. She speaks very well of you! :thumbsup

And my dad mentioned that one of you girls was one of his nurses when he was in the hospital and how nice you were (or was it your sister? not sure).

Rachel 07-03-2007 07:39 AM

aw - We love the elders at the F'ton church. They've been good to us.

Tammy would have been his nurse - She's a phenomenal nurse. She picked the right profession!

Rachel 07-03-2007 07:39 AM

I think I sat in front of you Sunday night though! I should have turned around then.

The thing that stood out in my mind is that we need to break through to another dimension in God. It is not wrong to admit the struggle and the pain that we have all faced in trying to do a work with God in this area but that we need to sing and rejoice in spite of it and allow God to use the resistance and pain to elevate us to a higher level!

It is my own personal opionion that we have been "held back" or have been in a "holding pattern" in this area because of a number of different issues weather they are real or just the vivid imagination of someones fertile mind!

And I think that Bro Kinsey got to it at the end when he started talking about the young people because it is my belief that there is a group of young people arising that have no idea of "history" and that have a powerful hunger for the supernatural power of God and they are and will changing the atmosphere.

I feel the waters a stirring!!

Thanks Pastor.

I have been thinking about your end of the world lately.

How bad has the effect of the recent mill closures been in your area?

Are the Esteys still selling fish n' chips in Newcastle?

Has the third generation of McPreachers found a place to preach? I've heard great reports about him. You and D, and M&H must be proud of his accomplishments. It would be great if Clyde's genes could produce a least one decent preacher.

500th Post on this thread

500 posts in 25 days. At this rate, we should have the longest thread on Aff by the fall.

Post on my Canadian friends, post on, give us excess of posts that surfeiting therein we may exceed all others.

The mill closures are beginning to sink in. There are a lot of men that have no idea what they are going to do.

Yes, Estey's are still selling fish and chips.

The third generation one is going to spend some time here with his "old" Dad. He has had opportunities in other places. He is a very talented young man and we are very proud of him.

It was interesting last Saturday as my son and wife were both in comititee meetings and I was out having luch with some friends. It feels awesome to be the driver for such important people!!

I was rejected again this year - but at least I had 2 interviews. I'll try again though! In God's timing.. Huge comfort that He's in charge and I'm not.

Is the delay in starting a medical education training program in New Brunswick a factor in your situation?

Is the Centre du formation medical du Nouveau-Brunswick a possibility?

Rachel 07-03-2007 09:32 AM

It wasn't but now that the other is opening.. It's a consideration and I am looking into other options in case the training program does open in 2009 - it would be MUCH cheaper and more convenient.

L'autre, Centre du formation medical du Nouveau-Brunswick, est une possibilite...
