Clearly we can make a judgement about men being girly....

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor 6:9-10

Men may hate Church because there is no challenge. They are told to "just believe" in Jesus. If you attempt to strive, labor, run or be whole hearted you are called a Pharisee or a legalist.

If a man sees in scripture he is to BE LIKE JESUS and takes that seriously abandoning all else for that purpose he will soon be branded "heretic" or "cultist".

The worldly Church likes men that are weak. Men with no vision. Men who are not going anywhere except through the doors and onto the Pew on Sunday!

Bring back Churches like the first one. Where men are told they must forsake all to be a disciple of Jesus. Where they are told they must hate Father and Mother, Wife and Children, Brother and Sister, yea and their own life also if they wish to be a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. Where they are told they must take up the cross daily and die to self if they would be a disciple of Jesus. Where they are taught without holiness no man shall see the Lord. Where they are taught spiritual warfare and to take the kingdom by force.

Present to them a Jesus who is coming to violently overthrow all the Governments of men and WITH HIS SAINTS rule all the nations with a rod of iron!

THEN you will have a stirring among men. Its probably to late for many who have become satisfied with Church attendance instead of discipleship. However starting now why not revolt against the modern Church and begin teaching the commandments of our Great God and Saviour Jesus Christ? Holding him up as the example for every Christian and do away with the distorted lie of "unconditional love"!

The truth is out there.

Most church is done in a fashion that many women find appealing and but many men find appalling.

Possibly. But there are degrees of effeminacy, are there not? Think your judgement on how much is too much will be the same as God's judgement? That's the question of the thread, after all. Well, if we change "feminine" to "effeminate" (which, we're told, is different, and signaled, to someone, an agenda of some kind ;)).

Oh, silly me. God, being God, would insist on there being absolutely no effeminacy in a man. So, any guy who uses the word "salmon" as the name of a color is out. For example. (Right, Ferd? :heeheehee)

there are degrees of effeminacy? right... a little adultery is ok too, right?
or a little bit of gay is cool because there are degrees of gay.

God's judgement will be bas upon a spotless life that was made spotless based off of unending repentance.

So its safe to say you may not make it heaven if you have a "little" sin or a varying "degree" of sin. :thumbsup

Hmmm, so if I don't like sports or breaking wind with macho guys, (both "manly attributes"), and have soft hands from a desk job, I am going to hell? I guess I should stop wearing deodorant and shaving, etc. then I will appear more manly...

I guess one of my issues with my Pentecostal heritage is that everyone is supposed to like the same things... guys are supposed to be loggers or construction workers or roofers, etc. (not that there is anything wrong with that, I sometimes wish I had a job that was more outdoorsy), to like sports and hunting, breaking wind and then leaving the room with all of your other guy friends still in it (of course I've probably broken the man code by even mentioning this, but the majority of guys find it funny and will take turns doing it to one another). I never got into any of this stuff, I'd rather go for a walk or a bike ride or read a book. By reading this thread, it appears that I would need to pretend to like sports and hunting and other more traditional "manly" things to go to Heaven...

What if - every person, male or female had different interests and personalities and there wasn't a mold of exactly what hobbies a man is supposed to like and which ones a woman is supposed to like? What if a woman doesn't like scrap booking or figuring out a 23989713th way to do her hair, if she is different, and doesn't fit in, that would make her more interesting in my opinion. Too many people (men and women) seem to be looking for a Pentecostal clone with a very defined set of interests, and the only thing you are allowed to vary is the brand of cologne or perfume. I never wanted to be just like everyone else (Well, at least not in the church) but as a preacher's kid, I wanted to be like the "World"... but being like the "World" was not what Pentecostals traditionally make it mean, it was more about being allowed to be an individual and developing my own likes and interests.

I dont think going for a walk, riding a bike, or reading a book is effeminate. Its when a man acts or dresses like a women. And plenty of men who are "macho" are going to be lost.

Jesus calls us to a life IN HIM. A life in the spirit. If we live and walk there we wont have a lot of time for other interests.
