I would go with:

TRIO OF ATLANTIC SEAFOOD COCKTAIL, jumbo lump crab, maritime lobster, sweet rock shrimp Champagne vinaigrette, tarragon aioli, horseradish cocktail sauce

PAN SEARED FILLET OF ATLANTIC SALMON ON WILTED BABY SPINACH
Creamer potatoes, coriander sprouts, toasted pumpkin seeds, warm green tomato vinaigrette

QUEBEC MAPLE SYRUP PIE WITH BUTTERMILK PRALINE ICE CREAM
Vanilla bean crème fraiche

And then, I would request a side of FIDDLEHEADS, lightly cooked, with butter and vinegar.

Aside from beverages, this feast should slide in just under $100 CDN, plus tax and tip, for a total of approximately $150 CDN for the complete dining experience.

You are making me hingry, Maple.

My wife is gone today, running a fund raiser for the youth, and that can of raviolis didn't quite cut it.

Here is an inside view of the historic Saint John City Market, opened in 1876, the oldest continuing farmer's market in Canada. You'll want to take note of the structure of the rafters; Saint John was a city of shipbuilders, and it shows. The moose head is from a local moose killed in 1910. The market butcher kept the head for its aesthetic value. I'm sure you can agree with his taste in decorating.

Just past the sign on the right hand side, the one that bears silent testimony to the cultural demand of separation between the sexes, is a small establishment that sells seafood chowder. It is served in a styrofoam bowl, and you'll have to eat it with a plastic spoon, but it's so good you'll be tempted to eat the bowl when you're done.

The message stated it would be covered at Canada Conference- needless to say the survey was not beat to death so could anyone please stand up and ask if the individual who sent the message out asked his fellow ministers to disregard his notice and apologize for any direction he gave.

Ministers have a right to respond- garbage can or not - I don't think it is anything to be proud of if you didn't respond or are for an issue that is controversial...there is and will be a time to say "yes" or "no"

We get mad at our Saints for acting like that! don't we?

Kudos to the Bishop of O for having the confidence of his constituency and the alacrity of mind to deal with this matter. His was not the only District to do this.
The issues raised were dealt with at Canada Conference - and as I heard it, every minister in Canada will receive a letter of explanation.
The problem with the survey was that it was misleading - to the casual reader it would seem to have been authorized by the UPCC and authored by the "Honorary Board" which by the way the UPCC does not have.
The whole thing reminds me of an old leadership statement - If you think you are leading and nobody is following you are merely taking a walk. The elder(s) discovered that they were merely taking a walk. For one in particular it is time to quit trying to get others to lick their particular candy stick.

So sad to be that disrespectful to our elders! Nothing like one in particular if he should go off the scene today...would it be said he was a great man instead of the words that were just said.

I went shopping today -- oh my did I ever! I found the best shop. If I'd known it was here and what it was like I wouldn't have bought a thing until I got here. The kind of clothes I like and a big sale!

Had a ball! My mom sat and watched me and gave me honest opinions. I ended up buying at least 6 new outfits! Going back next week! :thumbsup

ROTFL - the half has not been told.
Do you speak as cryptically as you write. I'm still trying to figure out your intent.
If it had been anyone but elders who pulled the stunt you would have been able to see red lights in the sky from the explosion.
BTW, nobody said that they weren't great men. Everybody is entitled to a no-brainer.

Canada Day 2007

When the Sun smiles with the golden warmth of a new morning on the rocky crags that mark the eastern boundary of our great nation, Canada will be 140 years old.

Canada's motto "A Mari usque ad Mare" (From sea to sea) is based on biblical scripture: "He shall have dominion from sea to sea and from the river unto the ends of the earth (Psalm 72:8)". Our hope and prayer this Canada Day is that our motto will become our reality in our generation. Our holy aspiration is that Jesus Christ will be Lord in Canada from sea to sea to sea.

May God bless our nation with the fulfilment of the prophet's promise: "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh:" May God grant that the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ would shine into every home in our nation, and that every Canadian believer would experience their own personal Pentecost in Canada.

May the Gospel of Christ shine across our land bringing light to every person, peoples, and language in our multicultural mosaic. May the people of the seas, forests, cities, plains, and tundra hear the name of Jesus and live. God, let the Day of Pentecost fully come to this land we love.

May this Canada Day find you in the house of God, and may we all find there the empowerment to change our nation with our prayers and our witness.

Happy Canada Day

Poutine is a big deal in Quebec. Bill Clinton stopped his campaign in 1992 to have a plate full.

I liked ML's section from The CN Tower.

I agree. Bro. Kinsey did a great job in the morning. We were late so I only heard about half the message but it was very good. I hated that he had to leave as well.

About the offering..... :) ....if I'd been asked to do what Sis. L and Sis. B were asked to I would have been so totally mortified and might have resisted a little. They were very gracious! :thumbsup

Every time I comment on the sad state of health care in the nation below us I get called a socialist. In order to avoid any harm to my self esteem I have decided to quote an American expert on the American Health Care system.

CHICAGO – The U.S. health care system is “a dysfunctional mess” and politicians who insist otherwise look ignorant, according to a medical journal essay by a prominent ethicist at the National Institutes of Health.

If a politician declares that the United States has the best health care system in the world today, he or she looks cluelessrather than patriotic or authoritative,” Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel wrote in Wednesday's Journal of the American Medical Association.

Act 2:44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
Act 2:45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

Act 4:32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
Act 4:33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
Act 4:34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
Act 4:35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

Sounds like the Apostles were a little Socialistic in their thinking!

A great video, partly because Prime Minister Harper is in it. The Prime Minister is guiding our nation with a steady hand, an eye for the future, and with an appreciation for our role on the world stage. A refreshing change after the embarrassing performance of the last government.

Ma'am,

If you're speaking of who I think you are, I have to ask, "Fer or agin it?"

From what version?

KJV "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Sanctioned by God, used by true believers everywhere.)

PPHV "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and thou mightest be saved if thou affirmst the doctrines and standards all the days that the Lord thy God giveth thee." (Sanctioned by the UPCI and Independent Conservatives)

FSV "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and being once saved, thou shalt forevermore be saved." (The preferred translation of the ACOP and ReformedDave)

NDV "Then Peter said unto them, Repent (Of any six of the ten major sins), and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ (Or the Divine Titles of your choice) for the remission of sins, and ye shall (In the optional tense) receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (The official translation of non-denominational churches)

Why, I saw Felicity at the Summer Summit. That's who I saw there.

Felicity was as fashionable as ever: fashionably late (Of the 130 people there, she was the 125th to arrive); and fashionably attired (Her walker matched her outfit perfectly). :lol

ML, you have to go more than once to see folks. I didn't get to see you because I was recovering from my accident enroute from Maine to NB. I rolled the car at 55mph but fortunately I landed in a swampy area a good distance from any trees. I was truly a holy roller for a few seconds at least. :)

Actually I got to reconnect with many people, who were very gracious, kind, and welcoming to Felicity and I. Actually the fellowship continues as we are getting together with some others who have invited us to lunch or to their homes this week.

Actually I got to see some folks on your list. I saw Destiny and Pelet, and D & J was there, but I have no idea who that is. I didn't see Triple E, but he may have been there. I saw your grandmother from a distance, but regret that I never got to speak with her. She is one of my favorite people!

TB,

I am glad you safe after that car accident. To roll a car at that speed it is a miracle you are fine.

Is this Summer Summit pit stop part of the "UPC Reunificiation Tour" for Felicity?

I am calling her trip to Tampa for GC the "Mother and Daughter Reunion"!!! LOL

If Tampa is anything like this week has been it's going to be awesome! I can't wait.

I'm emotionally drained though with all the warmth, love, friendliness, prayer, and the dozens of hugs I received during the week.

Truly, there's nothing like the family of God!
